Welcome to Grönklitt Stugby Björnen!

We’re delighted that you’ve chosen to stay in one of our cottages. The cottage is owned by a homeowners’ association made up of private individuals, and we hope you’ll enjoy your stay here as much as we do. We appreciate your care for the cottage and its furnishings during your stay.

Björnens Cottages hold a special place in the area’s history—it was these cottages that laid the foundation for Grönklitt’s development. Each cabin embodies tradition, a connection to nature, and a genuine Dala atmosphere. The area’s goal is to offer authentic accommodations where tradition, the tranquility of the forest, and a warm sense of community come together.

We hope you’ll have the chance to enjoy both the tranquility and the activities that Grönklitt offers year-round—from skiing and hiking to peaceful evenings by the fire. Discover nature, experience the local culture, and make yourself at home.

Wifi

Wi-Fi is available in the cabin.
The network name and password are posted in a visible location in the cabin. Check the refrigerator or the bulletin board, for example.

Sauna

There is no sauna in the cabin, but there are shared saunas (one for men and one for women, each with its own changing room) located next to the reception desk. You don’t need to reserve the sauna in advance; simply go there a little while before you’re ready to use it and turn it on (if it isn’t already running). There’s also a sauna raft on Lake Rädsjön that you can rent.

Wood stove

The cabin is equipped with a fireplace. Guests must bring their own firewood, which is also available for purchase at ICA To Go near the front desk.

Before lighting the fire, make sure the damper is open. Start with a small fire to warm up the flue. For better draft, you can temporarily open a nearby window when lighting the fire.

Remember to close the damper securely when you’re done using the fireplace. The handle should be in a firmly horizontal position.

Upon departure, the fireplace must be cleared of ashes. A metal ash bucket is provided in the cabin and must be emptied into the designated ash container according to the instructions under “Waste Management.” Then place the empty bucket in the fireplace so that it is easy for the next guest to find.

ATTENTION! Never use a vacuum cleaner when handling ashes due to the risk of fire.

Heating and ventilation

The cottage is heated with electric radiators. Upon departure, the thermostats on all radiators must be set to 15 degrees.

The cottage relies on natural ventilation.

Dishwasher

There is a dishwasher in the cabin. Please remember to use only dishwasher detergent.

TV

There is a TV in the cabin.

Snow clearing and sanding

Roads within the area are plowed and sanded by the local authorities.
Each guest is responsible for plowing and sanding the path to their cabin during their stay.

Sand boxes are located along the roads in the area.

Electric vehicle charging and engine heaters

Electric car chargers are available at the front desk, among other places.

There is an engine heater outlet at the cottage’s parking area. The key to the outlet is kept with the cottage key.

ATTENTION! It is strictly prohibited to charge an electric car using the engine heater outlet, outlets inside the cabin, or other outlets not intended for this purpose. This poses a serious fire hazard.

Coffee maker or percolator

A coffee machine and kettle are available in the cottage.

Drying cabinet

There is a drying cabinet in the cabin. Normally, about an hour on medium heat is sufficient.

Parking space

Parking is permitted only in the designated area on the farmyard where the cottage is located.
If there is more than one vehicle, additional cars must be parked in another parking area in the vicinity.

Additional instructions

Cleaning

Each guest is responsible for ensuring that the cabin is left clean upon departure, in accordance with the “Check-out Instructions.” If the cabin is not cleaned according to the instructions, a cleaning fee will be charged.

Vallabod

There is a ski storage shed at the start of the cross-country trails at the intersection of Norra and Södra Stugvägen and Värdshusvägen. There are also ski storage sheds in the storage building on the farmyard near cabins 62–67 and 79–85.

Sustainability

The association strives to adopt a sustainable approach, and this is something we can only achieve with the help of our guests.

We therefore ask that you pay special attention to the following:

Electricity Consumption

  • Avoid leaving radiators on when windows are open.
  • Use the drying cabinet efficiently.
  • Turn off the lights when you leave the cabin.

Equipment

  • Please take good care of the cottage’s equipment to avoid unnecessary purchases and waste of resources.

Fire Safety

The cottage is equipped with smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and a fire blanket. These are inspected regularly as part of the association’s systematic fire safety program.

For added safety, we advise against charging electrical devices at night or when no one is present in the cottage, as this is a common cause of fires in homes.

Waste management

In Orsa Grönklitt, we have waste sorting for household garbage, and as a guest, you participate in sorting your waste. In the cabin, there is a container for compost and a trash bin for combustible waste. This garbage should be disposed of at the environmental station that your cabin belongs to. Everything else should be sorted and disposed of at the recycling station, which you can find marked on the map in your arrival envelope. There is also a check-in newspaper with more information.
